Golden Years and Tears - Pension In One Hand And Out With The Other

The Golden years a time in all our lives where we look forward to retirement, long gone are the days when pensioners were in their prime. Now the prime candidates for the government's new ruling of raising retirement to the ripe old age of 67. How many of the golden oldies will make it down to the local post office to collect their pensions. What happened to the days when grandparents sat you on their lap and told funny stories of their child hood? Kiddies of the 21st century now listen to tales of woe of how life was a struggle or the pain suffered because the list for a hip replacement was as long as your arm.

Sometimes it makes you wonder why our children today are full of so much anger and hate, when the stories told do not fill them with laughter just sadness.Turned are the golden years into olden years more like where old timers are liberated to do as they please. Do what? Have you ever tried skiing on a Zimmer frame or sky diving with a pacemaker?Slave Labour (excuse the pun) slavery went out with the ark or so we believed but is back with vengeance. For e.g. the government took measures to protect pensioner from the freezing winter by giving a heating allowance only to take it back forcing, Tears, them to hobble through blizzards to work some more.

Compassion is far from their thoughts when enforcing new laws. These governing bodies certainly know how to take the living out of life of all human beings. The days and dreams of ever attempting a dare devil stunt for all golden oldies (pensioners) will forever remain a memory. To have lived their lives in the fast lane will always be in their thoughts. I hasten to add it is never too late to sit the kiddies on your lap once again and fill them with knowledge on how to get the best out of life under the jurisdiction of others.

There will always be rules/regulations that we as a nation are not happy with, so what can we do about it? In some cases choices are zilch, so on with the thermals to clock on for another eight hour shift. But for those still in their prime give them the opportunity to live your dream for you.Children in the twentieth century are going to struggle like that of the old days without an education. To be able to succeed or cope in this world then knowledge is a necessity. Members of parliament are where they are, Tears, today because they furthered their education to their own advantage, if that's what it takes for a child to have life put back into living then act now.

Eulogies Should Leave You Smiling Through the Tears

Michael Jackson's is probably the latest of the famous eulogies. After all whenever someone famous dies somebody gives a eulogy. Think of Princess Diana for instance and the wonderful words spoken, Tears, by her brother. As eulogies go it was personal, poignant and professional. It was probably, in fact, the perfect eulogy, Tears, . Even those of us who are less famous deserve one too. After all anyone who has lived and loved has made a contribution to life. Why is it then that so many people find it hard to write a eulogy?

If they were speaking to friends about a loved one who had died they would have no trouble describing his or her attributes. In fact when someone dies the family members often want to talk and talk about the deceased because it seems to help with the mourning process. Yet when they, Tears, stand up in church, in the funeral home or even at the graveside words seem to fail them.A good eulogy is about the life and times of the deceased. It should summarise their contribution to their family and the community.

I use the word summarise deliberately because a good eulogy should be short, especially if it is given in a church. Clergymen and women, you, Tears, see, might, Tears, have another funeral or another ceremony to attend. It is polite to ask how long they would like the eulogy to last. Three to five minutes is the norm.Obviously you cannot give a full history of the deceased person in such a short time but you can give highlights of their lives. You can mention where they were born and perhaps, Tears, their great love for their place of birth.

Alternatively you might say the deceased was a wanderer all his or, Tears, her life and describe some trips. You speak about his or her job and, above all, about the personality and hobbies of the deceased, Tears, . Obviously you mention attributes like kindness and generosity but, if the family don't mind, you can also speak about the foibles of the deceased. You might say Mary was always late so everyone allowed for that when organising meetings with her. You might say John supported, Tears, a certain football team who were useless but that undoubtedly he might be using his influence in heaven to improve matters.

Dry Eye Care: Tears Of Joy

It's true to say that water is the 'stuff of life.' Without it, we're basically stuffed! Crops, trees and flowers need it to grow, and humans can't survive for long without, Tears, it. Engines need oil for lubrication - it's the same old story, time after time. In a similar vein, dry eye care ensures that we maintain the correct level of moisture for our eyes. Have insufficient moisture is something we can't afford to persist.Healthy TearsMost folks have heard of 'dry eye' on television, especially in commercials.

But exactly what is it? Well, dry eye syndrome occurs when the, Tears, correct formation of tears is impaired for whatever, Tears, reason. Sometimes, tears may form but not in an adequate amount. What do tears do? Well, they oil the eyes thus relaxing them. Dry eye becomes more of a problem as you get older and lubrication becomes more of an issue. It has been estimated that around 9 million Americans, Tears, suffer from dry eye symptoms and maybe, Tears, up to 30 million suffer from mild dry eye problems.

If you think you might be one of these sufferers, the first stage is being aware of the symptoms. Don't neglect any sight problems you might be experiencing. Listen to your body! You might find your eyes constantly irritated or, Tears, maybe even suffering from scarring or infection of the cornea. Occasionally, permanent loss of vision can follow, although this is a rare case. The important factor here is to get medical help because, Tears, if untreated dry eye problems can severely affect the quality of your everyday life.

A Little Protection Goes a Long Long WayEssential Things to avoid if you happen to suffer from dry eye:1. Warm rooms2. Hair dryers3. Smoke4. WindYou might also find that you benefit from wearing eyeglasses instead of contact lenses. Also, humidifiers, Tears, in rooms (especially bedrooms) have been known to help with the condition. Try tear ointment at bedtime and see if that, Tears, alleviates your symptoms as well. Here Comes the RainThere will be times when dry eye simply cannot be prevented.

In these cases, eyedrops can help to alleviate suffering in the short term. In effect, they function as 'fake tears.' The quest to manufacture human-like tears continues in laboratories around the world. One day, scientists will be successful.Sometimes, in severe cases, the cornea becomes irritated and anti-inflammatory, Tears, agents are needed to prevent the dry eye condition. Topical steroids can also be used quite effectively, but only in the, Tears, short term. In the long term, however, this can cause problems and side-effects.

Not Able to Cry - The Alchemy of Tears

Practitioners of the medieval "science" of Alchemy famously dedicated their investigations and experiments toward transmuting base materials into precious materials. The ultimate prize at which they aimed was the Philosophers Stone... a substance that they believed had properties that would allow them to turn base metals into, Tears, pure gold. Some alchemists however, subscribed to a parallel view that they called internal alchemy and instead of trying to create gold, they sought to create an elixir of life that would cure all disease and prolong life indefinitely.

Psychological theorist, Carl Jung and his followers were fascinated by alchemy as a metaphor for psychological functioning in the Western mind. One of his early collaborators,, Tears, Marie-Louise Von Franz, described how the alchemical process called liquefactio resembled the psychological use of tears. The alchemists believed that the prima materia, the raw materials had often hardened or solidified in the wrong way and could not be worked with. Von Franz pointed out that psychologically in some individuals, raw emotional states rigidify in ways that obstruct emotional development.

The alchemists dealt with this hardening by proposing that the minerals had to be melted dissolved or liquefied. Von Franz followed the metaphor and proposed that underlying this image is the psychological understanding that sometimes a hardened personality needed to dissolve in tears and despair. In more ordinary language, for some people rational attitudes have "hardened in a wrong way,", Tears, that is, they have locked the person into habitual patterns of behavior and attitude which are now harmful to them.

These rigid, restrictive emotional habits often also preclude healthy, assertive or communicative emotional responses which are perceived at best as unhelpful, and at worst, dangerous because they make the individual vulnerable. These individuals, Tears, often cannot or will not permit themselves to cry... even in the face of their most terrible losses. Breaking through to tears creates a loss of conscious control, a breaking down, Tears, of conscious barriers which creates space for movement and change.

Compared to the habitual attitude of rigidity and control, this can feel like frightening chaos, Tears, ..."dissolution of the personality, Tears, into tears and despair," but the individual may find in therapy, perhaps for the first time, a safe space where the creative influence of emotion and the unconscious can flow into the space and do their work of promoting growth and healing Therapy, Tears, , Tears, and the therapist act as a container to protect, Tears, the person while they reorganize themselves and incorporate necessary new elements.

Handwriting Without Tears - Use The Correct Approach When Teaching Left Handed Kids

In the last few years the number of left, Tears, handed persons has increased, Tears, dramatically. This is partly because left, Tears, handed children are not forced, Tears, to use the right hand for writing any more but are rather encouraged, Tears, to use whichever hand the child shows a preference to. Previously a left handed child was always corrected and encouraged to use the right hand.A left handed child cannot be taught to write using the same principles that are used to teach a right handed child.

The normal and the more regular methods of teaching are, Tears, more suited for a right handed child. Often a right handed person is not even aware of the problems a left handed person has to face. Here are some of the common problems faced by a left handed child:Push Vs Pull: When a right handed child is writing he or she is pulling the pen/pencil across the paper. This works well because we write left to right. Left handed children have to push, Tears, their pen/pencil across the page.

This is quite hard. This also makes the nib of the pen/pencil go deeper into the paper rather than flow smoothly.Smudging: When a left handed child is writing on the paper his or her hand is following the pen/pencil. And this way it is easy to smudge the letters they just wrote. This can, Tears, cause a real mess. The mess can be even more when a left handed person uses a proper nib in cartridge or a fountain pen.Watch What You Write: Since we write from left to right (in majority of the languages), a right handed person can watch what they are writing as they are writing.

This is often difficult for a left handed person and hence they can develop bad handwriting if not taught, Tears, using the correct method and approach. Here are some of the ways in which you can help a left handed approach:Mindset: First and foremost never ever discourage a left handed child from using the left hand for writing.Paper Position: Rotate the paper 45 degrees clockwise (top to the right). This way by moving the paper to the right (rather than the traditional approach of keeping it to the left) you are allowing the left handed child to view their writing as they write.

This gives them confidence, makes them right faster and teaches them handwriting skills.Pencil Position: Left handed children should hold their pencils an inch and half higher than, Tears, right handed children. Encourage them to keep their wrist, Tears, and hand below the writing line. If you find there is a lot of smudging then may be use a harder lead pencil like number 3 instead of a number 2 lead pencil.Avoid Hooking: One of the main problems faced by left handed children is that they cannot see what they are writing.

In order to be able to see what they are writing they tend to hook their hands above the writing line and write. This is a very difficult posture and cumbersome. Discourage them from hooking. A proper paper position and pencil position, Tears, will enable them to see what they are writing. So encourage proper paper position and good pencil position and discourage hooking.Special Products: There are special pens and pencils specifically designed for left handed persons. Make use of them and teach your children handwriting skills the correct way.

From the desk of John Arrington,Friday 1:39 pmBy: John ArringtonI think we all have had dreams about becoming Rich. And about the freedom we would have, Tears, to spend more time with our family. And have enough cash on hand to buy the, Tears, things we want. And not be in debt to anyone. All this cash would be coming in from our very own Home Based Business.I can tell you that 95% of the ads we see are scams. They offer riches just by getting up out of bed.. And zero efforts on your part.

You know the kind, Tears, I'm talking about. Most of us have bought one or two of these scams before. So we silently keep it to ourselves, Tears, .. But in secret we still search for another money making program, and we buy it hoping it will be that gold nugget, the pie in the sky. OH HOW TRUE!!!These scams being sold by the thousands and are no more, Tears, then warn out, Tears, programs of the past, just renamed and given a new face lift.

I just seen, Tears, one of, Tears, these on a infomercial on TV the other night, offering a warn out program.. The only ones who are making money off these scams are the scammers themselves.. They are laughing all the way to the bank.I was determined to find that true income generating program. I read about regular people like you and me making a full time income from the comfort of their homes. And all this was being done on the internet. Writing Articles to Tear at the Heart of the Human Belief System

As an online writer my most favorite articles to write are those that make you think and tear at the belief system of the individual. I mean really rip them hard. But why do I enjoy this so much? Hard to say, perhaps, Tears, I do not like unearned arrogance, expert status, Tears, or religious authority? Who knows I think it is funny to watch them squirm either way.Of course as an online article, Tears, writer who often submits, Tears, his articles to online article submission sites I have found folks in their, Tears, infinite anger and hypocrisy of their religion go and rate all my articles with a one star.

Right down the list. With 7,500 articles now, you can just imagine how long that would take. So they start and get to about 30 and quit; ha, so much for self-control, perseverance and loving thy neighbor? So, typical of you weak humans, not very impressive I tell you.I was told by an online article submission site entrepreneur that; If you write articles to "tear at the heart" of their belief system, surely it should not surprise you if they are angry with you.No, certainly I am not surprised at all, but their anger does not justify an attack, it is
something they must deal with internally not give it a one-star because I am of a different Religion or Belief?

I fully expect them to be somewhat upset, but that is good for them, because most people with a strong belief system go around picking on people. Therefore I am simply showing them the mirror, Not necessarily looking to have them contact me, comment or go thru all my articles until they get tired of it giving them all one stars? Anyway you understand. Consider all this in 2006.Lance Winslow - Online Think Tank forum board. If you, Tears, have innovative thoughts and unique perspectives, come think with Lance; www.

Where are you going to use it? When are you going to use it? Will you pay it off every month, or carry a balance? 2. Be computer and Internet savvy. There are some websites that do all of the work for you by providing side-by-side comparisons of available credit cards.

But be weary that the source is impartial and not simply, Tears, trying to lure you in with clever mudslinging. To avoid this, simply take the information right from each individual source. If you plan on carrying a balance make sure that the APR is low. 0% introductory, Tears, rates are nice, but make sure they don't jump up too high after the introductory period is over. The competition among credit card companies to gain you as a cardholder may sometimes seem overbearing, and often this why you rip those letters up when they arrive in the, Tears, mail.

No More Tears For Fear of Needles

Who enjoys the, Tears, thought of injections? Only those with a slightly masochistic tendency actually find the experience enjoyable. The majority of people tolerate injections as a necessity, and don't really dwell too much upon the process; it's just one of those things. But there are some people who are terrified by the very thought of a needle coming anywhere near to them. Copious tears are shed in the dentist's waiting room, the blood clinic or the doctor's surgery. More tears are shed at home at the very thought of needles.

Needle phobia causes a lot of unwelcome and unnecessary anxiety, Tears, and tension. Worse still, fear of needles causes real pain in that if you do not get treated for physical ailments, who knows what the ultimate outcome might be?I have come across many a person who, through avoiding the dentists for years on end because of their needle phobia, has ended up suffering the effects of bad teeth and pain for a very long time. Baby Tears - Why Does My Baby Cry All The Time?

All babies, Tears, cry. It is normal and natural and is a very important means of communication for the baby. Crying always has a reason and while some reasons can be easily identified, others are not. This is, Tears, why many parents struggle as they try everything to soothe a fussing infant and yet nothing seems to work. There is a list of possible reasons, Tears, for a baby who is crying and it helps to check each one.One of the main reasons that babies, newborns in particular cry, is because they feel hungry.

Because their stomachs cannot, Tears, hold very much they get hungry frequently so offering the breast, or bottle, might be the very thing the baby, Tears, was crying for. Of course, there will be those times when hunger is not the issue. So, this is when it is time to check the other possible reasons.Changing the baby's nappy might be a good idea. Although some do not object to a full nappy others do, and a nappy change might be all that is needed. This, Tears, is also the perfect opportunity to check that the baby is not feeling uncomfortable in his or her clothing.

Babies cry when they are too hot or too cold as well, so check that the clothes are keeping the baby comfortably warm and are not too tight.Babies will also cry because they need to be cuddled and held. Although some do not require that much physical contact, others do and some can need a lot of it. People have, Tears, often thought that holding their newborn a lot will spoil the baby but this is simply not true. There are products available that enable a parent to keep their baby close while still having the use of their hands, such as the sling.

But whether you buy one or not, it is important that the baby receives the physical contact that he or she needs when they need it.Another reason a baby will cry is when he needs to sleep. For newborns especially,, Tears, over stimulation can make it difficult for them to relax enough to settle down and sleep. A good idea is to remove the baby to somewhere quiet and peaceful where, after a while, they should be able to doze off peacefully. Then there are those occasions when a baby cries either because he is feeling unwell, Tears, or because he is in pain.

It might be at a higher pitch or sound urgent and insistent. Alternatively, if the baby has always, Tears, cried a lot and then does not cry as much, the silence is possibly the clue that he or she might be feeling under the weather. Colic is the term given for a baby who cries constantly for apparently absolutely no reason at all.

Blessings In A Mother's Tears

As a mother, my intuition told me that something just wasn't right. Most doctors blew off my concerns about my daughter, Deborah. They said the behavior problems were just "terrible twos" or "extra family stress" from my divorce. I knew from the time of my pregnancy that something was different. Even the labor and delivery was unusual. By the age of two Deborah, Tears, was displaying explosive behavior, head, Tears, banging, screaming during the night and kicking walls. Her first psychiatric evaluation was at the age of 2 ฝ and came back "normal".

As Deborah got older the behavior continued but was somewhat manageable, with very creative, Tears, parenting techniques and close monitoring. By third grade she was diagnosed with ADHD and medicated. This helped somewhat but I still sensed that something wasn't right. A second opinion showed four additional diagnoses of OCD, ODD, depression and anxiety.

Additional medication, Tears, was helpful for the behavior, Tears, but there were always side effects, Tears, . School was becoming, Tears, a challenge.

Grades were inconsistent and Deborah continued to show no interest. Things seemed to hold steady for a few years.

Then, August 2000,, Tears, the situation took a turn for the worst. Deborah, then 14 years old, was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder.

Also known as manic depression, this mental illness is characterized by drastic mood swings. The bipolar, along with the other disorders completely changed, Tears, my daughter into someone that,, Tears, at times, I hardly knew. When we were first told of the diagnosis, I was somewhat relieved that there was a reason for the extreme and bizarre behavior we were witnessing. However, my life became an emotional rollercoster.

As a mother, I immediately felt that if I tried hard enough I could "save" my daughter from this awful illness.

I figured that if I tried hard enough I could "fix" everything so that her life would be "normal" and she wouldn't have to suffer. Most of what I was doing had been very good for myself and, Tears, the rest of my family. However, Deborah was in denial and wouldn't accept any of the help that I offered her.

That was the painful part because as a mother, I wanted to reach out and protect her.

I began a crusade of educating myself, joining parent advocacy groups, going to conferences, reading books, collecting information, networking with other parents, networking with the school, and going to counseling. I immediately went on Family Medical Leave from work and began working a reduced schedule so that I could closely monitor Deborah until she was stabilized. I still feel that all of these things were very positive.

However, I tried to push all of this on my daughter and expected her to react positively to my assistance. She didn't, she felt controlled and smothered and lashed out even more. This was so painful for me because I wanted so desperately to protect her. I slowly realized that Deborah must want to be helped - nothing could be pushed on her.

Deborah was not doing well in school and there were so many options available to help her succeed. Again, she, Tears, was not receptive to anyone's help and out- patient counseling was not effective. I was constantly fighting the urge to push my knowledge and ideas on her. Because, after all, "mother knows best". Instead I tried to be, Tears, subtle with her - then I would retreat to my bedroom and cry.

I struggled between elation - when she was in a good mood, anger - when she wouldn't speak to me, and hate - when she was swearing at me.

I continued to network and educate myself, remembering to do it for myself and not push it on my daughter. I tried to take care of myself and to not give up my whole life because of this illness. I slowly recognized the positive things about this, Tears, situation.

Like, how it caused me to reprioritize my life and take a stand for what I believed in. I did a lot of soul searching and made some personal decisions that I had been putting off. All of this placed me way outside of my comfort zone and it wasn't a good feeling. But, like life itself, it's a process. It's personal growth.

I actually must thank the Lord for this whole situation because it has helped me in so many ways. Things are so much clearer to me now and my path is much more obvious. I am not the one with the illness but I am going through a personal growth so astounding that I wouldn't trade the experience for anything in the world.

My heart aches for Deborah and each tear I cry represents my love for her. I, Tears, would like to share my experience with her, make her aware of how I feel and what I'm going through. However, she's not ready to hear it. I would love to see her go through a similar, Tears, growth. Maybe she is, in her own way. Or maybe she'll look back years, Tears, from now and realize that she gained something, Tears, from all this. I know my life will be painful for awhile but I will continue to survive. I pray that all the pain will be worth the gain.
